Transporting and installing cyclotrons from Belgium to Poland
From Louvain-la-Neuve to Krakow in Poland
Heavy Lifting+Handling transported 2 cyclotrons from Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium to Krakow in Poland.
Calculations for 21 bridges in Poland
All of the escorts and permits for the exceptional transport task with a 15-axle trailer were obtained. For the Polish part, calculations had to be made for 21 bridges before the route could be approved.
Hoisting cyclotrons with a hydraulic hoisting system
Once the calculations had been done, we were able to move to installing the cyclotrons (devices for proton therapy) using a team of rigger-engineers and specialised electricians. For this task, we used a wide range of equipment: planking and supports, heavy rollers, a 5 ton forklift truck, a small crane and even a hydraulic hoisting system for lifting the cyclotrons.
