Transport & installation of a cyclotron in Uppsala, Sweden
Weight: 250 tons
Skandionkliniek in Uppsala, Sweden
In the academic hospital of Uppsala in Sweden, a cyclotron had to be installed as part of the modernisation of the cancer care department. The installation of the 250 ton cyclotron signified an important milestone in the construction of the Skandionkliniek. It is one of the centre’s largest and most complex devices and is the genuine showpiece of the hospital that is on its way to becoming one of the most modern hospitals in Scandinavia. Using our gantry crane, the two cyclotron halves, each weighing over 100 tons, were hoisted into place.
This Heavy Lifting+Handling project even drew the attention of the Swedish newspaper Upsala Nya Tidning.
